We’re All Off To Sunny Walton On…

Day 3: 22nd March, Wednesday

In a female American voice, “Hi. You are currently being recorded”. Is the phrase, coming through the window, as we looked at this cloudy start to the day.

Oh! And you will also be glad to know our trip to the Triangle shopping centre was a complete waste of time. Well almost. Guess what the wife found in the bottom corner of a side camera bag pocket? That’s right, the missing sd card. All she can say in her Oopsie face is,” We got a trip to Clacton out of it!”

Todays Teapot

Back in our room. The last of the stitches in my fingers decided it was time to come out. One thread came loose. And I decided to cut off the last one as it wasn’t holding anything together. Give it another week or two, and it should be nearly back to normal.

It’s A Bit Choppy

Today we aren’t going very far. Today is Pier day. Walton on the Naze pier is mostly an amusement arcade with some rides. But if you want to go beyond the arcade. You have to pay some money. This is mainly used by people who enjoy fishing. The end of the pier is closed off to the public. This could be due to health and safety issues. Or the council not wanting to pay the owner rental charges. Who knows.

The sea is rough today. And with the wind, it doesn’t look like it would be easing anytime soon. We walked along the seafront, taking some pictures along the way.

Our walk leads us to today’s entertainment: The Walton Pier.

We went and engaged in our usual behaviour when going to an arcade. The wife goes to the “grabbers” claw machines. And I searched for a decent payout from the different ticket game machines.

After an hour and a half, the wife returned after failing to achieve her goal of obtaining a plushy. Meanwhile, I was able to find. A few semi-decent gambling machines release a semi-decent amount of tickets. I managed to collect just over 1400 tickets.

Where’s Frankie?

Whilst looking for the items I bought with the tickets, I won. Somehow I managed to lose the stringy keyring of Frankensteins’ monster. I ate the sweets. For myself, I chose this money box.

The wife chose a keyring of a character from a game.

We took a little walk, for as far as we could as the sea was attacking, along the other side of the pier and saw these.

We eventually left, making our way back to the B&B. Sitting in the bench chairs we relaxed outside for a while before returning to our room.

We finally got back to our room. The wife had a nap. I caught up with some Youtube and tried to finish yesterday’s blog and finish this one. We didn’t bother going out again. We snacked on the provisions we had left in our room. Whilst waiting for the next day to begin.
