I Have A Date… But Not Right Now!
What’s Going On?
Today, I am having a weird head day. Although I have a million ideas in my head that I want to do or try. I feel like I have a bucket on my head. Nothing has been helping. I need some peace to gather myself.
I need to focus on one thing at a time. So this blog…
A Catch-Up May Help.
Before going away on our holiday to Walton on the Naze, I started revising. It was time I got my act together and finally re-attempt to get my car driving license. The first step was passing my theory test. So I went to my phone and opened the app I used to help me pass my motorcycle test in 2011. I didn’t delete it because I knew I would need it again one day.
To help me out a bit more, I downloaded some software. An Android emulator to place the apps from my phone onto my computer. This helped with not being hunched over my phone the whole time.
So during the week before our holiday. I revised as much as possible. And just before we left, even though I hadn’t finished. I thought, “screw it!” And booked my test for just after our return home.
The day before the test day, I sat in front of the computer for about four or five hours and went through all 773 questions and in the end, I got 22 wrong. Which I thought wasn’t too bad. I had written down the ones I had got wrong on a piece of paper to carry with me and read before my test.
Test Day
I left the house early enough to get down with a few extra minutes to spare. The place I went to was Chatham. The test centre has no redeeming features. So you wouldn’t know what you are looking at unless you are looking for it.
The process was quick and easy. As if on a conveyor belt. We were each moved along as quickly as possible. From opening the front door, I was seen, seated, seen again, everything placed in a locker and straight into the test room in less than ten minutes.
After finishing the test, I went back out and collected my things. I was then called back to receive my paperwork to say: I was successful in passing. There are two tests you have to pass. The theory test: pass is 43 out of 50. I got 49. The second test is hazard perception. The pass mark is 44 out of 75. I got 54.
The ride back was cool as I was able to ride and enjoy the architecture over the Rochester Medway Bridge.
After getting home, I spent a day or two searching for schools to help me pass my practical test. I went on a massive search of all the nearby school websites and then I came across this one.
I picked this one because it was one of the two that were the cheapest. Yes, the website design is about twenty years out of date. But this site provided more information that was current and in my eyes. It just felt right.
Top Gun School of Motoring
I contacted them through Facebook and booked a two-hour assessment session.
A couple of days later, we met up. Lousie gave me the once-over to see how I was. All seems to be good. In her eyes, I can drive well enough. I merely have to iron the wrinkles out of a few things so I should pass my test. But that was the problem. I needed to obtain a date for the test.
Due to covid and the recent strikes. Tests are near impossible to get. So it took me a while but, ultimately, at 6 in the morning. Whilst leaving work. I managed to book a test. On the 11th of September at 12.48 pm. After texting for a few days with Louise. I have set up some days’ holiday and an intensive course to help me prepare. So we will have to wait and see what happens next.
But in the meantime, some revision is needed. Which consists of watching the routes from the test site I will be taking on YouTube. Plus some tips to help in other areas.
Redubble! What The Hell Happened?
Another problem arose. Redbubble, the company I created designs for. Suspended: my account. I don’t know why. They haven’t told me. I have sent a request for review. But there are no guarantees they will even look at it. So all of my five hundred-plus designs are gone. I love how companies feel like they are so superior. They can’t be bothered with you. They are happy to take the money you make for them. But one little problem. Bye. Sorry. Who are you?
I do have a separate website with my designs on, Teepublic. I will have to find another way to get my designs out there. When I am set up, I will let you know when I do.
My Finger
My finger is healing reasonably well.
Swipe or scroll passed quickly if you don’t like seeing open wounds.
Even though I am not thoroughly healed yet. And also, I have still been using it nearly non-stop. I am making good progress.
So What’s Next?
Myself and the missus. We are trying to decide and work out where we want to go on holiday next, in July.
I am working on creating a little shelf garden, chucking out some unwanted things and having a massive spring clean. To help, I purchased some indoor plant lights.
All in all, I know it’s not much at the moment. But it’s a work in progress. The room is dark most of the time. We keep our curtains closed. I needed some plant lights to start me off. The ones I purchased were from Aliexpress. And although it may not look like much. The LEDs are set to specific light wavelengths that help with plant growth. My next steps are to get educated and purchase more plants, which will benefit me in the long run. I’ll update you as I progress.
An update on the previous plants we bought back from holiday. One is in the above picture, and then another two. The wife managed to kill. The cactus and the other succulent are on the window sill in the front room. Fun times!
