So What’s Been Happening Recently? #36

Birthday Holidays

So, it’s that time of year again where I spend most of March at home for my annual holidays. Some time for the wife’s birthday and mine. But another year spending it at home due to the you know what.

We have been trying to keep ourselves busy.

The wife has finally started her YouTube channel. It has been a long time coming. Her having to learn OBS and how to stream online. Her channel at the moment is a gaming channel where she is streaming Animal Crossing: New Horizons, from scratch. Each video is educational for the wife as she learns new things to improve her channel just a little bit more. If you can, please give her some support and encouragement. Maybe subscribe, I would appreciate it. Her channel is Crazyunicornlady69. Here’s her latest video. Remember she is just starting out.

Myself, I have been working on a new adventure, Print on demand. A system where I design pictures and put my designs on to various POD websites, where I get a commission, on each item sold. It began with RedBubble. I started with my sign for my website and then worked on other ideas. They won’t stop coming, and I love it.

I am currently uploading a collection of ideas I have dubbed The beaches of the U.K. I wanted to do this based on my own experience of going somewhere and not being able to bring home a memento from where I had visited. I painstakingly went through a list of beaches creating a image for each beach. That took a couple of weeks taking all the spare time I had and it’s going to take just as long to upload them all. But like I said, I am enjoying it. On RedBubble, I have got up to the beginning of G. But at the moment I am concentrating on catching up with the other websites I have recently joined: Cafepress, Society6, Spreadshirt and Zazzle.

Whilst making the images I had to learn about the public domain and what I can and can not use to make my images. This can limit the amount of images I can use greatly. But there are some sites that have alot of free stuff to use. Some of the images I used were not completely free. I didn’t have to pay for the image, but I had to include an attribute from where the image originated from and also say if I modified it in some way. Which I have no issue with.

Like I said it’s painstaking and tedious. But I am hoping, one day it will pay off and I can make some money out of it.

I have had a problem recently, I was also joined to TeePublic. But for some reason I have been banned from their site. I don’t know the reason why. I have contacted them, but at the moment I am still waiting for an answer to fix what the problem may be.

So, the wife’s birthday. Not alot happened really. I hadn’t bought anything for the missus. The way I have been feeling recently, my head wasn’t in state of mind to think straight. I had no other option to give her something else, I didn’t like to idea. But it was the only route I could think of. So, when she woke up I gave her the bad news that I hadn’t bought her anything. She was a little unhappy about this, also a little groggy as she had just woke up. So, I told her that she can go on an online shopping spree. But she had until midnight to spend the money. Her budget was £150.

To my surprise, she was over the moon with the idea. I had explained why I hadn’t bought her anything and she understood. But in the end didn’t care as she was going to do what she loves best, shopping.

I left her to it and I continued with my stuff and about a couple of hours later she was ready to spend my money as she had picked out what she wanted.

She picked out:

Surprise, surprise. She went over budget by a couple of quid. She had also bought a few other things that are private. But she was happy and so was I. We had already bought a cake a few days before, shaped like a panda. It didn’t taste great, very dry. The rest of the day was spent relaxing and the plan for a takeaway ended up just being home packet noodles. Buts that’s what she wanted. It was nice.

My Birthday was pretty much uneventful as the missus. The only difference was I had to take Tiffany, my motorcycle, in for a service and repair. The back brake lever had gone frozen stiff and wouldn’t budge. I use Chadwell Motorcycles. I have been using them for years on and off. No problems with them whatsoever. I tell them what I need and they fix it. They are friendly and easy going. If you live near by and need some help with your bike or you need some gear, give them a try. Their shop is in Grays. No, they didn’t pay to say this. But if they want to give me a discount or freebies for next time I’m in…

After coming home, the wife decided that it was time for my presents. This time round I asked for things I needed not what I wanted, since I hadn’t got around to it. And I couldn’t afford it at the time. I asked for some new work boots an a new lock for my motorcycle. The state of my old work boots was shameful, long overdue for a new pair and the wife delivered.

My old boots:

I went with the same brand as they have done me well, Scruffs:

I also got my lock, I asked for, plus a little extra. Knives Out on bluray, I wasn’t expecting this. Which all came in a Marvel shopping bag, which will be added to the rest. We sat down and watched some programs and waited for the time to pick up Tiffany, from the mechanic.

The day went on and I was having trouble with my mouse, first believing it to be a problem with the surface I was using but then later realising it was just the batteries running out. The wife insisted she would get me a mouse mat. So she did. Which was nice.

In the evening I decided we were having a takeaway. Chinese, from across the road. I paid for it with some of the money I got from the father in law. Which left the birthday cake. It had been sitting in the kitchen for about a week, covered up. So I was wondering what the hell, when I saw this:

But in the end it was a chocolate cake. And that’s all that really matters.
