I Got Things #4

Recently my washing machine packed up. The bearings went on the back of the drum. Producing a really nasty high pitched noise. So we stopped using the machine while we called the guarantee people to send someone out to fix it.
So for about two weeks we were without a washing machine.
I went online and searched for a temporary fix and found some manual, non-electric machines. Searching online reviews and vlogs and ended up with this.

This is a great little machine. It cost me £74.99, including 24 hour delivery. Without, it was £69.
Using it is pretty simple. I found it easy to assemble. A few fiddly bits, but it was ok. The process is to fill with water and detergent. Put your clothes in and seal it up and manually turn the crank for about a couple of minutes. Insert pipe at the bottom, loosen the seal a little and let it drain. Then to rinse out the excess soap. refill with water and crank agin for about thirty seconds and drain again.
You end up having a little workout but they come out clean. You will need a spin dryer to drain the excess water. Or quick access to a clothes line.
This drum will take alot of dirty laundry. Supposedly a whole duvet. The results are what you expect from a washing machine. Please note: heavily stained items may need to be pre-scrubbed before putting in.
The screw top creates an air-tight seal that is able to heat the water up quickly inside and the air compression is able to clean the clothes.
Eventually we got our machine fixed and now our little brummer is sitting in the spare room, waiting to be used again. Would I recommend this item? Yes I would. It is ideal for when the machine breaks down or can’t have a machine in your home. What it’s intended for is for camping trips or if you travel around alot. Van life and so forth.
