Learning With Alison

So I have started my journey to make my dream career a reality. I chose to start by going on courses for my chosen vocation. I found a website that contains free courses for everything you can think of or courses that surround the subject matter.

This website is called Alison. They claim to have over 4000 courses and have had 25 million learners over a span of 15 years, which is a great accomplishment.

Just to let you know. This is not an ad. But all the links are affiliated. If you click on a link and maybe go on one of the many courses available. You will be helping me. So thank you if you choose to do so.

Their philosophy is a great idea the rest of the world should follow. I discovered the website by accident. I didn’t realise how big the company was until I dug a little for this blog.

So, here’s the deal. ALL courses are free.

After you join: The courses you complete will display on your dashboard page. There is a button to press called learner verification. When you press the link, it takes you to another page giving you details of when and how long it took you to finish and even your test score. This page confirms the course you did with a list of what you have learned. You can print or save it on your computer.

Now if you want a certificate for the course you passed. You will need to pay for it. Your options are a PDF file, which is 23euros. A PDF file and a printed certificate, 30euros. A PDF file and a framed certificate, 40euros. They also have diplomas. The prices for those are PDF 79euros, a PDF and certificate 105euros and a PDF and framed certificate 127euros.

There is also a premium version of the site for 7.99euros a month. But from what I have read, if you don’t mind some ads or have an ad blocker, you don’t really need it.

So, if you don’t need one, you don’t need to buy one. You can have an achievement title sent to your LinkedIn page if you so choose. Plus, you will be sent an email confirming you have passed.

So there is no pressure for anything, and if you want the certificate later. You can purchase it later.

I have completed three courses already and working out what my fourth will be.

Mastering the Art of Persuasive Writing: This course jumps between content writing and copywriting. You will learn the different formulas associated with copywriting and work out what kind of writer you want to be with the help of Stephen king and others.

Introduction to Bing SEO: This course teaches you the basics of SEO, Search Engine Optimisation. How using the right keywords can help promote your website to be seen by as many and the right people as possible and more.

The Complete Social Media Marketing Course: This introductory course is on learning how various social media can help you with pushing your product. Also, a quick study of funnel building.
