The Next Day – Relax & Go
Sunday, 10th July 2022
I awoke early to the sound of someone’s phone alarm. It wouldn’t stop. The person who owned the alarm either left their phone in the room or was so sound asleep that they didn’t notice it.
Well, I did, and after listening to this for about twenty minutes, I got up. I think it was around six in the morning. I wasn’t happy. It wasn’t the only problem I had. During the night, the walls. Being really thin, I could hear the maintenance man or someone from the next room behind the bathroom. Bashing and banging metal things about. Then on top of that, the extractor fan in the bathroom is really loud. The bed itself was okay. I slept on top as it was too hot when I went to sleep. But the pillows were extra thick.
We didn’t have to leave for breakfast until 8.30. So, I tried to relax. I made myself a cup of tea and watched whatever was on the tele at that time in the morning. Whilst the wife got herself ready to go out.
We had to be out by 10 am. We had already packed everything, that wasn’t needed, and I had contacted a taxi company the night previous.
Heading over for breakfast. We continued to enjoy the gardens and saw others from the wedding, enjoying the sun and recovering.
The breakfast was okay, pretty standard foods. But less than other places. Usually, from my experience, you can have cereal and a fried breakfast. Here, it was one or the other. I chose the fried breakfast. My wife had the vegetarian fried option. We had a pot of tea. There were also fruit juices and water available with an assortment of jams.
By the time, we were done. We had about an hour left to have another walk around the gardens.
The local wildlife came out to play.
More trees.
Whilst walking around taking some photos, I got my recorder out and recorded some sounds of what was around me. I even recorded the extractor fan in our room. Hopefully, if they come out okay, I will create some ASMR videos for my various channels: YouTube, Odysee, TikTok and Instagram.
We went back to the room and collected our bags. It was time to go home. Whilst waiting for the taxi, I took these to show you what it looks like on the outside.
The Ye Olde Plough House is a great place for functions. But as a general hotel, being in the middle of nowhere. Perhaps you need to be in the middle of nowhere. I am not its desired customer base. It is a lovely place to visit. If I were going to have a party or a company meeting, I would consider this place. The staff were helpful and kind. I did like that they do not take any bad behaviour from the customers. Based on an incident during the wedding.
It was a nice little getaway for us both, preparing us a little for our next trip in the next couple of weeks.
Our taxi arrived and dropped us off at home. We unpacked, and I tried to relax before beginning to write these blogs. The wife wanted a shower. She got upset when she realised she had gotten some of the dye on the bathroom door. Blue fingerprints. Everywhere. Stressing, as she does, decided it was a good time to go on an extreme cleaning mission of all the doors, including patching up bits with some paint.
Eventually, she settled down after finishing. She had her shower and then relaxed in front of the tele with her YouTube programmes. Back to our everyday routine.
