The Book

This book was printed in September 2010. In Malta by Gutenberg Press. And was Published by Rebellion. Rebellion is the owner of 2001AD, a weekly release comic with one of their biggest, well-known characters: Judge Dredd.

My copy is a first print hardback with 96 pages.

What Did I Think?

Zippo has been arrested and is set for execution. His friends, the ABC Warriors are on their way to rescue him.

The execution is going to be televised to draw out his coconspirators. But they don’t know the ABC Warriors are coming. And when they arrive, hell is coming to town.

The ABC Warriors, I don’t know the full backstory, but from what I understand, are a group of warrior robots built to fight in the Volgan war for the humans. In the beginning, they worked alone and were brought together as they were the best at what they did.

In the background, other factions want things to go their way and are waiting for the best time to strike.

A group known as the G-Men are the underground police. And they are the people who captured Zippo. They are tasked to ensure the robots do as they are told. I loved the fact that the G-Men don’t use guns with normal bullets. They use high-powered armour-piercing nail guns.

Docktar Grabari is the chief scientist and boss of the G-Men and has an uncanny resemblance to Nosfartu.

We also get a bit of a backstory from Steelhorn, who is seeking redemption from being taken over and used to destroy his comrades.

Even if you don’t enjoy the story, it was a good story. The artwork alone should be more than enough for you to view this graphic novel. The action is non-stop every step of the way. But it is the images that make this book.

It has been a while since I read a graphic novel, and I am glad I decided to give this a go. I have the next volume to check out when I am ready.

Would I Recommend?

If you fancy something a little different and enjoy a graphic novel, this story is the right way to go. Yes, I would recommend this book. To anyone who enjoys a good all-action story and great art work to back it up.
