My New Purchase: Lenovo Earbuds
Lenovo Think plus LivePods LP3 Pro Earbuds
Woe is Me!
A couple of years ago I purchased and wrote a blog about an earbud set from eBay. This is them:
They were awesome. A cheap, unbranded, Chinese, Bluetooth gadget. They have a power bank to charge the earbuds on the go. Also, they can charge your phone as well. Not by much. But they did what I needed them to do. I also liked the charging display, telling me how much of a charge was in the bank and earbuds.
But the problem, that came later. Wasn’t due to the buds themselves, but to my own carelessness. I lost one of the earbuds in the car park, at work. I never found it again. So now I am left with this:
My New Gadget
Although there is nothing wrong with the device, I felt that I should maybe buy a new set of earbuds. I couldn’t continue with just the one bud anymore. Well, I could… I just didn’t wanna!
It just so happens: my sister asked me to buy some new earbuds. As Christmas presents for herself and her family. So I set to work. Looking for something cheap, that looked good and was decent. At the same time, I thought I would pick something up for myself.
So, off to Aliexpress, I went, to do some shopping.
It took me a couple of days to finally decide what I wanted to buy for everyone.
I chose this for myself:
So what are they?
The Lenovo Thinkplus LivePods LP3 Pro from Aliexpress. Are really nice earbuds.
The earbuds come prepared with medium-size silicone covers already on. I changed them to small. But both sizes fit well enough. They didn’t fall out when I tried some headbanging and head-shaking.
Although they don’t have much capacity, the power bank can supply you with some extra juice for your phone. Otherwise, they do just as well as a box to keep your earbuds charged.
According to the box information. You get 4 hours of usage, which should be more than enough time for most people. With 1.5 hours of charging. The power bank itself takes about 2.5 hours to charge up.
It also has Bluetooth version 5.0. Which isn’t new (tech from 2016). The latest is barely v5.3. It is still more than good enough for what you need. They have a range of 10 metres.
The animated battery display looks cool as well.
They performed really well. Listening to music and also with watching videos on my phone and desktop. I’m not an audiophile by any means. But I know what sounds good to me. To know: that they will do the job I need them to do and be happy with the results I get from them.
I haven’t tried using them for phone calls yet. But I don’t see that as much of a problem as that isn’t what I bought them for.
If you want some cheap, decent earbuds. For under £20. Check these out.
