BCA published this book in 2002, by arrangement with Llewellyn Publications.

My copy is a second paperback print with 198 pages and includes a bibliography and an index.

What Did I Think?

Would you like to know about the various types of vampires that may coexist with us in the world? What to expect if you encounter a vampire physically or astrally?

Then this book may be for you.

This book goes into the history of the vampire. The author tells us what the historians recognised as vampires and what they were not.

Going back thousands of years, even though they may not have used the same words, descriptions, or lore, we can match the various types of superstition and misunderstandings up to the present day. And we can find out who did what and the truth about certain ideas and fears.

Konstantinos makes it clear that the vampires we see in modern media bear no real or minor relation to the vampires we have today and in the past. The various versions written in this book may be one type of power, if there is a power at all.

The author writes as if he is giving a lecture and has planned this book out well. Knowing when and where items of interest will arrive in each chapter of the book. Encouraging you to continue to read.

But as much as I would like it to be true, no one can convince me otherwise.

Each of the stories is an opinion, an anecdote. A story shared down through the millennia.

I admit I don’t know half of the things that happen on this planet to deny the supernatural, but with today’s technology and surveillance. Something should have been seen by now.

After finishing the book, I still don’t know either way if any of this stuff is true, but I would probably say no.

Would I Recommend?

I couldn’t really recommend this book. This is personal preference. I did have trouble getting through this book. There were parts I found interesting, and then some that I didn’t.

But I will never stop anyone trying a book out. If you’re interested.
