Welcome to Brighton #4
Day 4 Time To Go Home
23rd July 2021
We woke up again this morning and it was freezing again. But we didn’t mind really. We were going home today and we were a little sad about that. But I wanted to get back home. Back to my own comforts and relax. We had prepared the night before by getting most of our gear packed away. Leaving only a little left to put in our bags.
By the time we were ready to go down to breakfast we had everything packed, ready to leave.
After we enjoyed our last breakfast at the Beach Hotel. We decided to have one last visit to the beach.
Both of us were still aching from the past few days. But we didn’t really mind. All we cared about was sitting on the beach. We found a place and enjoyed the sea air and the peacefulness of the beach. Well as much peacefulness a beach can provide. With the traffic behind us and the seagulls, screaming their little hearts out. The wind rushing through and the sea crashing against the pebble beach. Hmmmm! Peaceful.
Whilst relaxing, The father in law rang to say he had arrived. He was a little early. So, a little while later. We met up outside the hotel. Went upstairs, grabbed our gear, loaded the van. And we were on our way home.
Beach Hotel
Even though I was let down by the Wi-fi. The hotel itself is very nice. It’s clean and well maintained. The staff are friendly and eager to help you in any way that’s possible. The main manager that was there, most of the time, was kind and laidback. And happy to have a conversation with you. Making sure everything is okay with you.
The breakfast is the basics of everything you need. The list of options you are provided with will cover meat eaters and vegetarians. Vegans may find it a bit harder to fulfil their requirements. But no matter what happens, you are guaranteed to be full by the end of it. The wife didn’t like it so much. But she ate her fill. Walking around Brighton all day you will need it.
Walking around, inside the hotel. There are signs telling you everything you need to know. There is a lot of signage. Especially in the lift. The lift itself is small. So depending how many there are with you and what you are carrying. You may need to make several trips. The other thing that still bugged me during the stay was that entrance way. It’s too small. It needs to be a full size door. Not, what felt like, one door cut in two.
All in all, it’s a nice place. I would recommend it to everyone. The prices are set. That’s why we chose it in the end. They don’t go up or down because of the season. If I didn’t need the Wi-fi. I would definitely come back. Especially if I can’t find a cheaper place to stay. For July, they were the cheapest that included breakfast with the price. They also have a restaurant attached. So, you never have far to go if you don’t want to go far for a meal.
The ride home took a bit longer than it should of. This was due to a lorry parked up on the motorway. So we took the scenic route home. It’s was only an extra half hour and we were home just after twelve.
We quickly put our stuff away and emptied the freezer we had left on defrost, during our holiday. It was overdue. This was so we could go and do our monthly shop and refill the freezer. And that’s what we did. That took a couple of hours and when we finally got home and put everything away we were finally able to stop and relax.
Nothing really happen much after that. I went into the office/ spare room and started writing these blogs and the wife tried to relax and start to catch up with her soaps. This went on until we decided it was time to go to bed.
The Next Day
What the hell happened. We woke up and our bodies were useless. Arms and legs were just weak and tired. It was our Wedding anniversary and we were in no condition for anything. We did plan to go out for a meal. But that wasn’t happening. So, we did what we do best. Stay at home and try to get on with home stuff. I continued with my blogs. But my arms were fighting me all the way. The wife tried to do some house work. But with her twisted knee. Making the wrong movement was agony. We did what we could until our bodies recovered. Which took a couple of days.
We did in the end of the day treat ourselves to a Chinese. Which helped. We should really think about doing some exercise to help build ourselves up, for our next planned trips in March.
