We Didn’t Do Much For Christmas.

What’s Been Happening Recently? #40

6 a.m: Christmas Eve. I had just finished another night shift but couldn’t relax yet. So I got home, got changed and was ready to leave again. After I set up my latest video to upload on YouTube. I Loaded up Tiffany with her panniers and the gifts I had bought. I was off again. My first stop was my brother.

I got there at about 7 a.m. We exchanged gifts, and I was a little shocked by the amount I had received from him. He had bought me a selection of model starships from the Star Trek universe. There were so many that I had to leave one of them behind as I didn’t have the space due to presents I still had in my top box. This was one of three model kits he had gotten me. I will have to go back later to get it. We spent some time catching up, and I taught him briefly about his new camera. He also received some One Piece DVDs for his collection.

Next Stop No.2

I contacted my sister to see if it was okay to pop over. And then around 8.30 a.m. I made my way over to her.

We exchanged gifts and caught up while she was cooking up some custard for a trifle. Below is what I bought for them. Everyone got some earbuds. My sister received the sling bag, and my nephew and BIL got some slippers.

They were on their way out. So I made a move for home.

A little shock

On my way home, I drove past a speed camera. I wasn’t fully concentrating when I noticed a light flash in my eyes. Of course, I thought straight away that I had been speeding and got caught by the camera. I looked down at my speedometer and noticed that I hadn’t, and I was left confused. It bugged me for a while. I checked my helmet cam and found everything was okay. I’m still not sure what happened.

Out Again

I arrived home and found my wife still there. The plan was that the wife would go down to the crematorium on the bus. And I would meet her there when I had dropped everything off. So as she didn’t need to do that we went down together.

The crematorium was a little busier than usual. Christmas seems to be the time when people go and visit family and remember those they miss. And we were doing the same. There were a lot of flowers and mementoes decorating the various plaques.

When we were ready, around 11.30 a.m., we headed back home.

Back Home

After resting for a while at home, I went to bed for a few hours.

I eventually woke up, and it was nearly midnight. I stayed up for a few hours and finally went back to bed.

Merry Christmas

Waking up, my head wasn’t feeling great. I have recently had a relapse in my mental health. In a matter of a week, I had gone into a bout of depression and had two major panic attacks. I hadn’t given myself enough time for my head to recover appropriately. So with some paracetamol, I found my tinted glasses and proceeded to wear them for the next couple of days. I started my self-care.

About an hour later, the wife got up, and we continued our day. I decided to put my roast on. Then we settled down to watch some tele.

I remembered that I had a present from my sister. So I unwrapped it to be pleasantly surprised by the Blu-rays I had been given.

As the wife didn’t want to do Christmas this year, we didn’t buy each other anything. We were content with each other’s company.

Food

For breakfast. I was happy with a large cup of tea and some Panettone. While the wife also had a large tea, a toasted bagel and some stolen. By the time we were ready for dinner. The missus had changed her mind about having a pizza and decided that she wanted to have a roast with me. So we cooked it together. It was nice.

By the time we were ready to go to bed, we had managed: to catch up on three TV shows and watched another series, two movies and a couple of youtube videos. Overall. All things considered. It was a productive day.
