Knives Out

This whodunit film is a fun modern take to those old murder mysteries that everybody loves and grew up on. The star cast also look like they had fun making the film as well.

Daniel Craig plays Benoit Blanc a Private Investigator. Called in to help with death of murder mystery novel writer Harlan Thrombey. Played by Christopher Plummer. The typical scenario of a wealthy family, all with there own motive for killing their father or grandfather when they find out they have been cut off financially. Then to find out in the will that everything has gone to the nurse, Marta Cabrera. Played by Ana De Armas.

In typical fashion Benoit Blanc has his police companions to consult with, Lieutenant Elliot (Lakeith Stanfield) and Trooper Wagner (Noah Segan).

This plays out at the start like a Columbo episode then plays along like a Agatha Christie movie and then ends like a Murder She Wrote episode with an extra bit of Columbo. I did like how they added a clip of Murder She Wrote. Marta’s mother (Marlene Forte) was watching in Spanish.

Daniel Craig is not my favourite Bond. Just putting it out there. He always seemed too stiff of an actor. But I loved him in this film as you can see he really is enjoying playing the role.

This is a strong cast of characters and actors like Captain Americas, Chris Evan who plays Ransom Drysdale. His mother Linda played by Jamie Lee Curtis. Father Richard, played by Don Johnson.

Knives Out is a brilliantly fun film that you will enjoy. If not, oh well. It has done so well that a sequel in already in the works. if you get a chance give it a go.
