So What’s Been Happening Recently? #9

         Hi, I am back and I am bored. I am currently sitting in the Union office, at work. Waiting for people to talk about how we can help to fix their problems and maybe recruit some new members.
   So I thought I would collect my thoughts about what has happened since my last blog. And try to write down what I remember.
   So it’s a new year and not alot has changed in the world, everyone is still being a dick to someone else. Some are trying to hide it and some just don’t give a…. Well anyway. I am still waiting on my letter for my operation. I have stocked up on men nappies. Hopefully the letter will come soon.
    Christmas was okay. We stayed at home again and it was nice. The same old moaning of the smell of my roast. Even though I cooked it really early. She’s a vegetarian. She has a thing for the smell of pork. So it’s a full on lecture on how much the smell lingers and so on and on and on and on…. So after that routine ended. We continued with our Christmas as normal.
   Christmas eve was again tiring. Not getting much sleep before going out and giving out presents and visiting my family. The day ended with a meal at our usual Ming Long, with the father in law. Truly stuffed.
   Hopefully the family enjoyed their gifts. Most of them got either an e book reader or a Kindle Fire. I am pretty pleased with myself with the price I paid for them. I am always looking for ways to get something as cheap as possible. But I won’t buy rubbish. If I need to spend an hour or two searching websites, comparing prices, I will.
    I bought the nieces and nephews books and a collection of DVDs of some of our favourite films growing up. My brother got some DVDs of his favourite Manga, One Piece. The collection is vast so it will keep me going for the next few years.

 Right i’ll back in a mo I have to conduct a meeting.

  Again no real surprise how the meeting turned out. But ho hum.

      

    Around Halloween I got pelted with an egg on my way to work. The first rule: Do not stop, no matter what. Until that happens to you, you don’t know how hard it is to follow that rule. My first instinct is to stop and check what the hell happened. It struck me on the left side of my helmet. But I knew I had to keep going and I was fighting myself not to stop. I have footage of what happened. Being at night you can’t see much except the blurred back of two people with gray hoodies.
   Explaining this to a fellow worker even wearing a helmet it still hurts. The best way I can explain it is a bullet proof vest is not completely full proof. Yeah it stops the bullet but the feedback from the bullet can still bruise bones or break them.
     But anyway I ended up with dried egg on my helmet and it dribbled down my jacket. So everything had to be washed.
    
      Well it’s the next day and yesterday was a complete bust. Hopefully next time will be alot better. Fingers cross.
   I am Hoping this year will be the start of new things and new wonders. I am going to be an Uncle again and I am preparing for a hell in February by going to see Boyzone. Which will be nice.
