So What’s Been Happening Recently? #14

So it was time for another operation for my hemorrhoids.
About the 21st March I got a call to go for another Pre-Op appointment. I had had one about six months prior. So because it was so long ago, I needed another. But now my operation was also being done in the same week.
I had informed my work place. I was on my annual birthday holiday which normally takes up most of March. As I also take time off for my wife’s birthday. I normally take about a week off for both but I normally have alot of leftover holidays so I wrap them around the weeks off and end up normally with most of March off.
Anyway, working with my workplace they agreed to start my sick after my holiday was finished, about the 1st April.
There was also another problem. I recently ordered a new motorcycle and the pick up time overlapped with my recovery time. At this point I was window shopping online for parts I wanted on my bike and sending emails to Bacon’s in Ilford. To keep them informed about where they could order things I wanted on my bike for a cheaper price. The price was already agreed for the bike so the price of parts were not to go over the final price.
I phoned Les and explained the situation. He was brilliant saying it wasn’t a problem and would bring the bike to me, if necessary. So that was sorted.
I prepped for the operation by purchasing the Tena men pants that I had used before. I had also bought a attachable bidet. But even now, I still haven’t attached it.

The day of the operation was the 28th March and we turned up for the afternoon session, from 12pm onwards, at Darent Valley Hospital. I was in the back area of where I normally go for my Pre-Op. Then the waiting started. I get called over to a makeshift booth about two or three times. To answer questions and to get fitted for my anti blood clotting socks. We waited for about three and half hours. My wife was concerned and scared enough for the both of us. I just wanted to get it over with so I could get something to eat. The father in law shows up every now and then to check up on us. He was good enough to bring us in and home again.
I was finally called up to go with the nurse. I don’t remember his name but he was a short Indian man. Who seemed fairly nice bloke but with a ‘I’ve taken enough shit and I’m not taking yours’ attitude.
He took me to a curtain area with a chair to get changed. It was not nice. The place I changed in looked like a dungeon. With the dark red walls. Nothing looked right in that booth. It may have been clean but with the little lighting it had, you wouldn’t have known.
After I had changed the nurse came back and told me to leave my dressing gown and slippers behind. I did what I was told. I wasn’t going to mess with this bloke. So I then followed him along the corridor, making sure making my arse wasn’t exposed through my lose gown. There were a couple of kids there. They didn’t need to see my designer hospital pants fitted wonderfully over my exposed arse.
We entered a room and bed was waiting for me to get on. On the bed I asked questions and the nurse talked to me. I think she was trying to make sure I wasn’t nervous. I was fine. Like I said I just wanted to hurry up and get it over with so I could get something to eat. They inserted a needle into my hand and placed patches on my chest. Then I was told to pump my hand as they fed something in to my arm and…………

I woke up In another room. I could still feel the drugs making my head feel groggy. So I slowly sat up. Took some more of the oxygen to help with my head and waited for my cup of tea and toast to turn up. This is the quickest way to get out. Eat, drink and have a wee. As soon as you can do that you are more or less out of there. After getting your medication that is.
After a little while I was taken back to my dungeon booth and was told to get dress and then go back to the waiting room.
The wife and father in law were waiting for me. They had bought me a sandwich and a drink.  So I noshed them down as well. The room was now empty of people. I assumed I was the last one out. My head was still a bit cloudy. After a while it cleared up and the nurse returned with my medication and I was cleared to go home. I left realising I had forgotten to get a sick note and the doctor had already left. I went back and was told to go to my GP.

It was about two and a half weeks from the operation before I went back to work. I had to go to the GP to get a sick note. They, of course, had no clue about my operation had happened. During that time I healed on my recliner.
Nothing major happened during that time. I took my meds. Going through the process of my anus waking up. It normally takes a couple of days and I don’t like the feeling of it when wiping.
I took it easy until I was able to go and get  my new bike.

It didn’t work. I think it might be worse than before. It has eased of a bit now but it still didn’t work. I recently had a check up in May. That bloody doctor forcing that camera up my arse was not pleasant at all. So guess what? I have to have another operation. I have got my Pre-Op again on the 2nd July. And then wait for another date for the operation. Lovely.
