The Book Report #101
Episode #100
Einstein in His Own Words By Anne Rooney

The Book
The copy I own is a 2006 edition. Released by Arcturus Publishing Limited in the UK. It was also published in Canada by Indigo Books. But it was printed in Malaysia.
The book has 192 pages, including a Who’s Who and a Credits page.
What Did I Think?
This book is organised into various subjects connected to Albert Einstein. creating a small biography of the great man’s extraordinary life.
The majority of this book is quotes from Einstein that were said during his career as a scientist, politician, non-religious Jew and other parts of his life.
We learn about the various theories of relativity and his goals for the future. And how his ideas influenced science, then and now.
This book is a brief biography, and this is what let me down. The story of his life in this book is very limited, a condensed version of parts of his life. The majority of this book is filled with his quotes. Nearly 192 pages of quotes.
It turns out, after some research, that this is a book for the younger generation who would like an introduction to Einstein. Which is fair; I should have looked more closely when the book was picked many years ago.
But I went into this book blind. Don’t get me wrong, there is more than enough to please most people, but it didn’t work for me. I am not the author’s targeted audience.
Would I Recommend?
This book wasn’t for me, as it is technically a biography. It wasn’t a full immersion into his life. Mainly a summary. So if that is what you are after, I recommend this book. Otherwise, I would look for something else.
Please give this book a go.
